Art for People Power:

Artivists and Artivist organizations/collectives are working at the intersection of art and liberation. We recognize that power of supporting Artivists throughout the Carolinas as they work to advance movement building in our core issues areas. Cypress Fund has committed to providing 7 North and/or South Carolina-Based Organizations/Collectives whose work can be considered “artivism” with a two-year residency under our fund.  The artivists will work on projects that engage our 6 core issue areas, Abolition and Ending the Carceral State, Indigenous Resurgence, Gender Justice and Reproductive Justice and/or Black Liberation and Economic Justice.

The two-year residency includes:

  • 50K General Capacity Grant over 2 years

  • 1-2 Planning and Skills-Building Retreats

  • Organizational Support from dedicated Cypress Fund staff member

  • Bi-Monthly Check-Ins

  • Bi-Monthly Cohort Meetings
