Rosalyn's Love Letter to the Carolinas

We love the Carolinas for the power that exists in each and every community. We interviewed Rosalyn, Cypress Fund’s Chief Operating Officer, to learn more about power and joy in the Carolinas.

What do you love most about the Carolinas?

What I love most about the Carolinas is the brilliance, creativity, excellence, innovation, resourcefulness, resilience, and vibrancy of her people.

What is your greatest hope for the Carolinas?

My greatest hope for the Carolinas is that we will looked to as leaders of our nation because of the brilliance, commitment to community, and masterful organizing that exists. The Carolinas will be a place where folks can thrive and experience joy and freedom daily.

How do your personal commitments move the Carolinas towards this hope?

My commitment to the mission of Cypress Fund moves the Carolinas towards having a Black, feminist future; we know that when Black women are free, everyone is free. I see Cypress resourcing movements in multiple ways, drawing in and educating donors, creating spaces for movement to rest and recharge, and also being in the field with movement partners
